hi there
The usual process is putting the CD in the drive, rebooting, and when prompted, hitting any key to continue to install from CD.
After a few minutes of blue screen, you should get a screen of options, one of which is 'install windows XP'.
Select this. The next screen should then offer the option of 'repair installation' - select that and all should work.
If you want to do a complete reinstall, i.e. start as if you had a brand new hard drive with nothing on it, then you need to format your HDD and erase all its data. "ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded "
When you receive the "Press F6 to load SCSI/Raid Drivers" prompt, press F7 to bypass Advanced Configuration and PowerInterface (ACPI) detection. To begin insert your Windows XP Home CD and reboot you computer. A message "Press any key to boot from CD....." will appear, press the space bar to continue.
Setup will now inspect your computer hardware and configuration.
Setup now prepares your computer for install.
From this menu press "ENTER" to begin the install.
Windows XP License agreement, read, and if you agree press "F8" to continue, press "ESC" if you disagree. If you disagree setup will finish.
PART 2
The next step is to delete the partition, press "D" to delete the selected partition.
Now press "ENTER" if you are sure you want the partition deleted.
Now is your final chance, press "L" to confirm deletion.
Now you have to select where to install XP. Press "ENTER" to confirm the partition you want to install into.
