Both have their own advantages and hence it is tough to say which one is best.
Both support strong Object Oriented concepts and are best suited for both web applications and product development. Even small companies are widely using both Java and .Net.
but I want to say one thing there is more competition in Java than .Net. There are more Java professional than .Net. So .Net would be easier in terms of getting a job. NET is the new rage in web programming. NET Framework is a common environment for building, deploying, and running Web Services and Web Applications. The course covers all that will master one create web programs.
The course covers: definition of .NET , .NET Framework, VB DOT NET, OPP with VB, Console Applications, Visual Studio Net IDE, ASP.NET, Mobile Applications and more.
.NET professionals are much sought after by corporate biggies including Microsoft, Trilogy, Infosys, Xirs Ventures Inc., Wipro, etc.
