1. Click Start and open the Control Panel.
2. Click the User Accounts and Family Safety tab.
3. Choose Parental Controls.
4. Click on the user name you want to change on the Choose a user and setup Parental Controls screen. On this screen, there are two options to select that can be turned on or off; Parental Controls and Activity Report.
5. Change the settings for various levels of security in Parental Controls. These include:
* Windows Vista Web Filter (controls/filters websites that can be viewed).
* Time Limits (set the time related to when the computer can be used).

f you would like to set a parameter for your kids to use the computer. If your kids are logged on when the time limit elapses, they will automatically be logged off. You can use this control to allow only certain times of the day or even what days you will allow. Also available is a report to see who is using the computer the most. Here's how to set this up:

1. Go to Start
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select User Accounts
4. Select "Set up Parental Controls" (you may receive a prompt asking for an administrative password)
5. Select the user account that you would like to apply a time limit for

If your computer is connected to a domain, Parental Controls are not available.
You can use Parental Controls to help manage how your children use the computer. For example, you can set limits on your children's access to the web, the hours that they can log on to the computer, and which games they can play and programs they can run.
When Parental Controls blocks access to a webpage or game, a notification is displayed that the webpage or program has been blocked. Set time limits
