Well, you can easily block sites .

Steps are :

1. Open Internet Explorer. In the Menu bar click Tools > Internet Options > Content.
In the Content Advisor box, click Enable.

2) Click the Approved Sites tab. Enter the address of the website

if you want to block the complete website put * in front. For example to block myspace completely, type *.myspace.com

Click Never and then OK.

3) Click on the General tab and sure to select Users can see websites that have no ratings

4) Enter a password you can remember easily with a hint.

5) Hit OK. Surf safe Internet.

Step1:Know the list of sites you want to block.make sure your computer has an internet connection.
Step2:Standard look of DOS Window Open a command window (DOS), and type in nslookup
Step3:Jot down this IP address for future reference type in the name of the site you want to send them to when they visit one of the sites you don't want them to go to.
Ie. www.google.com , www.eHow.com etc...
Step4:Found on XP Find the "HOSTS" file on your PC.
HINT: on Windows(Pre XP ) it will be located under
C:\WINNT\System32\Drivers\et c
On WindowXP machines it will be located under
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\ etc
Step5:Double Click on the file named "HOSTS", there is no extension for this file.
Step6:Select NOTEPAD to open and edit this file with Your PC should ask what program you want to open this file with.
Select "Browse" and the select Notepad as the program you want to use.
Step7:basic HOST file setup There are some basic instructions on how to enter things in here.
127.0.0.1 is the universal IP address for the "loopback address" on every windows PC in the world.

By using this entry, any request to a certain address will send the request back to your PC.
Step8:Don't just block them, send them somewhere useful Start by entering the IP address you jotted down earlier. Followed by the name of the site you want to block
Step9:One drawback to this is that you will need to enter the domain name twice

Once as the domain name, and once with WWW in it.
Step10:Save the file.
Step11:Open browser and try to visit the site, you should be redirected back to where you wanted them to go.

if you use 127.0.0.1 and are not running a web server on your computer then your browser should return the standard ( 404 page not found error )

You must change the settings on your computer. Are they popups or just the sites themselves? Under tools and internet options, from there you need to change the properties. I myself have never wanted to go to those sites, maybe you have other people using your computer that maybe they have. There are many things that you could do and I am sure people are going to suggest it. I have 2 popup blockers. One for internet explorer and one from google. There is a way to block certain sites from your computer. Under tools and internet options, click on privacy and from there click on sites. You can block certain sites if that is what you are looking for. Best of luck to you

Hi Arun

You need to install software'e like a Netnanny to prevent anyone specially children from visiting sites with adult content. Else I would suggest that you sign up with 'Family Safety' from Windows Live Care which is an excellent service to prevent family members from accessing unwanted sites. With Family Safety, you can specify the people your children can communicate with, the websites they can view, and the search results they are shown.

1. You can manage or just monitor your children's contact lists.
When you manage the lists, your children ask you for permission to communicate with new people.
2. Contact list settings can help you make instant messaging safer in Windows Live Messenger, blogging safer in Windows Live Spaces, and e-mail safer in Windows Live Hotmail.
3. You can block all sites except kid-friendly sites and those you specify. Or, you can allow all sites except specific categories and sites you block.
4. You can view activity reports to keep tabs on the sites your children visit.

download and Install internet explorer 7. in the tools option turn pop up blocker on. and no pop ups will be there including frm porn sites. enjoy.
