well, Just click on the person's username with whom you like to make friendship, which leads to their profile page (You can also search for persons if you know their name/username too). Once you're in their profile page, simply click 'Add Friend' in the left panel, just under their profile picture/icon. You're done. Now once they accepts the friend request, their name will be automatically added to your friend's list which you can access from your profile page, on the right side titled as 'Friends & Fans'. You can see recently added 8 friends in that list. Click 'View all friends' to see the entire list. Off you go!

go to Mr.A's profile. On the left of his home page, you will see an option 'Add as a friend'. Just click on it and you friendship request will be sent to him. When he accepts your request, you both will be friends.
