Running unprotected is a good replacement for Norton, relatively speaking.
Not only is AVG better, it's cheaper too.
I've used it for almost a year on 3 computers. It catches the baddies and doesn't hog resources like Norton does. Besides which, it's FREE, no subscriptions!
Actually, Norton itself behaves like a virus!
I had tried AVAST but found I liked AVG better.
I've had both and I prefer AVG. I also use two other free wares: AdwareSE Personal and Spy Bot. I'm happy with all 3. The combination seems to work well.
