I want to buy 512 mb ram, 20 gb harddisk desktop pc. what will be the approx rate for branded and assembled desktop pc?

To start with, I believe 20GB Hard disk is becoming obsolete these days. Minimum avaialble HDD is of 80GB size. You can get SAMSUNG 80 GB IDE for Rs.1800 and SATA version for Rs.1850. Whereas Seagate 80GB is available around for the price of Rs.1700. Next, 512 MB DDR1 RAM will cost you around Rs.1300 and DDR2 512MB is available from Rs.600 (Kingston brand). So approximately, you can get the low-end assembled PC for the price around Rs.10K to 15K (depends on Processor, Motherboard, other peripherals).

Whereas When it comes to cheapest desktop branded PCs in India, just opt for HCL. Very basic HCL Ezeebee Pride (Beginner's PC with 1 Ghz processor) may cost you around Rs.10K and is good enough for the students, computer newbies. Whereas their entry level decent performing Celeron processor based system (HCL Ezeebee 4651 PDP 820 -for Office work, Internet) may cost you around Rs.14K and Pentium 4 processor based system may cost you around Rs.19K (Optimal for Multimedia experience, Gaming). it is very hard to get 20 GB HD now a days. It's cost would be around 10000/-

Now a days companies have stopped producing 20 GB hard discs . SO better to go for 80 gig . you will get your pc with in Rs.12,000 - 18,000 .
Better to go for assembled in this segment because when ever you want to upgrade it will be easy for you to upgrade.

Hi Seshan, You must be knowing the current technology is Quad-Core Server CPU which is very high graphic and high configuration. If you want Quad-Core assembled desktop PC it will cost you around 30K to 35K. There are many other options like Core to Due, Dual Core, P4 etc., There many funda is rate is directly proportional to the configuration. That mean if you increase the configuration the price also increases. Intel is the best brand and I recommend you to go with Core to Due which will be around 25000/-. Take Care. Byeeeee.

nothin more than 12 grands,optional if u go for tft screen da same thing will cost u for about 18 grands.....that is the cost if u go for assembling

I think you can get 512MB Ram but you will not get 20GB hard disk easily and if you get 20GB hard disk it will be second hand they will cost you a lot. If you are asking price of this two product then it will around Rs 2,000.

dear Seshan,
U must provide the complete specification u require. To know well what Pc configuration U need. U have not mentioned about the monitor processor speed etc.
