To start with, I believe 20GB Hard disk is becoming obsolete these days. Minimum avaialble HDD is of 80GB size. You can get SAMSUNG 80 GB IDE for Rs.1800 and SATA version for Rs.1850. Whereas Seagate 80GB is available around for the price of Rs.1700. Next, 512 MB DDR1 RAM will cost you around Rs.1300 and DDR2 512MB is available from Rs.600 (Kingston brand). So approximately, you can get the low-end assembled PC for the price around Rs.10K to 15K (depends on Processor, Motherboard, other peripherals).
Whereas When it comes to cheapest desktop branded PCs in India, just opt for HCL. Very basic HCL Ezeebee Pride (Beginner's PC with 1 Ghz processor) may cost you around Rs.10K and is good enough for the students, computer newbies. Whereas their entry level decent performing Celeron processor based system (HCL Ezeebee 4651 PDP 820 -for Office work, Internet) may cost you around Rs.14K and Pentium 4 processor based system may cost you around Rs.19K (Optimal for Multimedia experience, Gaming). Of course add your local taxes/levies. To know more about available models, prices, refer to:
