CVGS (Connectix Virtual Game Station) is a commercially available emulator for MAC and Windows, which emulates the PSX in software mode only. This means it contains no graphical improvements over the real PSX, but has the best compatibility.
A common criticism of the Apple platform is the lack of games compared to the variety of PC games. While the gap is getting narrower, with more and more companies developing and/or porting games for Apple, there is still a noticeable difference in the number of games. Connectix Virtual Game Station is a program and not a game, yet it does to Mac gaming what cable does for television: that is, significantly increase the variety of titles available. CVGS is a program that allows factory-original Apple owners to play Sony Playstation games on their computer. This effectively increases the number of available titles for the Apple platform by multifold.
