The icons that associated with the favorites in your Internet Explorer is known as favicons (favorite icon) which is named as favicon.ico. The biggest problem with favicons is that they are not persistent. If you empty your Temporary Internet Files folder, the icons are lost. Instead, the default, blue-and-white "e" icon in the Favorites bar appears. The only way to restore a favicon is to delete the link from the Favorites folder and recreate it.
To fix this issue, you may use a tool "FavOrg" which scans the Web sites in your Favorites list for favicons and makes your favicons persistent. It also lets you associate any icon you choose with a given shortcut, even if no favicon is provided. FavOrg will fix this problem and ensure that your favicons are made sticky. That is, once downloaded, the icon will be assigned to the shortcut permanently. FavOrg stores the favicons in a user-defined folder. Refer these links to download:
