How many files can an 8GB memory (usb) stick hold, approx?

It depends on the file size. In general approximately 8 lac pages can be stored.

depends on how big/small the file is
example you have a video, it depends on what the format and how minutes it is,
same with music and pictures and everything
assuming that you wont put just 1 type of file,so the file size wouldnt also be the same

but this might help
1024 kb = 1mb
1024 mb = 1 gb

It's pretty tough to say! How many files you can store in your 8GB pen drive depends on the size of the files you're going to store. More over, each and every file can't be of same size. But roughly, we can calculate like this:

8GB = 8 x 1024 MB = 8192MB = Apx 8000MB

Say, if you're gonna store MP3 songs in the stick (commonly around 5MB/file for 5 minutes song), then you can store up to 1600 songs in it.

Image files (.JPGs)/documents are around 100KB in size. So you can store literally 80,000 images in it.

Audio CD/VCD MPEG files are encoded in to 10MB per minute. By this calculation, you can store 800 minutes (13 hours of ACD,VCD) content in it.

So do your math! Hope you'll get it.
