If you want to use MTC service.The direct bus route No is 23C.which will take you to vellankani church.if you have your own vhicle and want to drive down,then starting from aynavaram take the medavakkam tank road to kellys,and via purasawalkam highroad and flowers road into poonamali high road and take chetpet overbridge at KMC to go to college road,then onto haddows road and into nungambakkam high road and at gemini circle take the mount road towards saidapet ,turn into sardar patel road at chinna malai(small mount) after crossing adayar river,proceed east till you reach adyar signal and turn right into lattice bridge road,proceed towards adayar depot(bus), and turn left immideatly after the depot,proceed eastwards ,and almost at the end of the road you will find on your right the church you are looking for and the salvation.Have a nice day.

simple....get into 23c bus reach besant nagar safely and walk abt 10 min....get blessed.....& come back home safely by the same bus....

If you have your own vehicle - car/two-wheeler - pl note: Travel at first from Aynavaram to Annanagar via ICF. From Anna Nagar go to the Marina Beach as follows: After exiting Anna arch,turn right and travel down EVR SALAI [Poonamalee High Road] upto Ega Theatre and turn right and travel upto the Chetpet signal. At this signal go straight and travel to Nungambakkam High Road [Mahatma Gandhi Road] via Haddows Road. Turn left when you enter Nungambakkam High road and proceed till you reach Gemini Signal. At Gemini Signal proceed straight down Cathedral Road till you reach the Marina Beach going over the flyover near the Music Academy. Upon reaching Marina Beach,at the signal,turn right and proceed till you reach Santhome Hign road signal. At this signal proceed straight down the Santhome Hign Road and travel to Besant Nagar via Adyar. The Velankanni Church is at the end of Besant Nagar and can be approached easily from the Besant Nagar Beach [formerly known as Elliots Beach] side.

From Ayyanavaram take 22A bus it takes you to until thiruvanmiyur get down at Besent Nagar walk down to Velankanni temple.
