I wish to buy a family car in the range of Rs 3.5 lacs to 5 lacs...If somebody cud advice me on the best cars in this range in terms of price, AMC, resale value

I would advice you to buy a swift diesel though the vxi model is priced around 5.5 lakhs. The car is very responsive and gives a good mileage as well. Its spacious inside and easy to drive.

I would suggest you to go for the Swift LDi. its the best in its class, with a good resale value, good service support.

For usage in city you can buy Hyundai i10. and for frequent travel from out stations you can buy TATA IDIGO GS
