BHP= Brake horse power is the as HP=Horse power.
there are three powers in automobiles IHP= indicated horse power; BHP=brake horse power; FHP=frictional horse porwe
generally for all purpose we considered BHP for all calculations.

bhp & hp is the same thing.bhp means brake horse power while hp means horse power.jst to abbreviate it,some people call it horse power i.e hp

there isn't any difference, just a difference in terminology....
bhp (or "brake horse power") is the way the british say it, and still referes to the horsepower the engine produces, but it is the amount of horsepower the "brake" on the engine is absorbing (and the engine is putting out to move the brake)...

BHP means break horse power:
For an Automotive Engine, it’s always expressed as a ‘peak/max value’ at a particular RPM at which it occurs and can be sustained for ‘some time’. None of the ‘Stock Car’ Engines can sustain this max Bhp ‘continuously’ as they are not designed accordingly.

In other words, a 100bhp/max car engine may be delivering ~ 70 bhp while cruising at 150kmph. The balance 30 bhp is the ‘reserve power’ needed for short duration over-taking or going up a small gradient without having to shift gears.

HP means Horse power.
horsepower persists as a legacy in many languages and industries, particularly in the automotive industry because of their continued advertising of maximum power output of internal-combustion engines in "horsepower" units of measurement.

....Yes BHP and PS are different and the values of PS is slightly more than BHP.bhp n ps both signify power...more the better.ps is a german term n is used as standard nowadays...whereas bhp was the standard term but it is still used.they are comparable app 1bhp = 1.2 ps
