My favourite Indian author is Sukumar Ray. Sukumar Ray was the son of famous children's story writer Upendrakishore Roy Chowdhury and the father of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. His famous works include "Aboltabol", "HaJaBaRaLa", "Pagla Dashu" and many more. He also launched a children's magazine named "Sandesh" which was later run by his illustrious son.

To me Sukumar Ray is one of the best Children's authors of all times.

He is one of the most versatile writers I have ever read, but unfortunately his works are all in Bengali and hardly been translated hence he has not received the recognition he deserves. I suggest you can pick up any of his books to judge for yourself.

I like R.K.Narayanan the best. He has a very vibrant sort of humor that i cannot see in anyone else.
