The Harry Potter series books have once again given room and scope for the question of Supernatural elements after Shakespeare. In India it has stirred a hornets nest and has sown reading habits amongst children. On one hand it has helped them to help wander in a fantasy land and in the other hand it helped children bond with it since more than 40 percent of our children are in the age group of 13-19

After a long time, the children of the world and especially India have been motivated to read books because of the series of Harry Potter Books by JK Rowling. Though I am perhaps biased because of my childhood recollections of Enid blyton, Harry potter books seems to have captured the Indian Child's imagination by taking them to a world of magic and fantasy , combined with School Boy type story and that of a boarding school. These books have taken away children from the world of DVDs, Computer Games and the internet and influenced them to do some reading and that is good.
