The book is an all time bestseller and one of the best fast paced thrillers ever written. Controversies or no controversies...the book is a masterpiece. There are so many twists and turns that if you do not get a shock/surprise once every two pages on an average then you are either mad or dead.
The end of the story can be a bit disappointing though because you expect something really great after reading so many pages filled with thrills and excitement. You would not like to leave the book until it is finished. I've seen people googling about the Holy Grail, The Last Supper and Monalisa after reading this book and haven't found anyone who wasn't impressed.
Dan Brown has done in depth research for each and every aspect of the story. He is a wonderful writer. There is no reason for one to not read this book if one likes reading. A strongly recommended book.
