Bhubaneswar is full of historical places. First of all the famous Lingaraj temple located in the Old Bhubaneswar, Mukteswar temple and many other temples in and around Old Bbs. The Dahuligiri is not far where one can read and see the rock edicts of the great Ahoka. In an around you can visit Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves and the old Jain temple there. These caves belongs to the 3rd century BC and one such caves chronicles the reign of the Great Kharavela of orissa.
There are so many historical places outside Bhubaneswar and all those can be seen in one go by making bhubaneswar as the base. In Khurdha one can see many citadels of various kings. The Barunei mountain and the citadel of Mukunda deva the last king of Orissa can be seen that is about thirty kilometres from Bhubaneswar.
