Ingredients: Honey, Powdered Nutmeg, Powdered Cinnamon, Lemon Juice.
Instructions : This is a sweet smelling, smooth mixture that not only clears up your acne, but also soothes your face and aids in skin texture, complexion and tone.
Honey is a common anti-bacterial product. Alone, it aids in skin regeneration and is a great all on it's own. It also works well in soothing skin and calming any kind of complexion problems. It's almost like an all-natural Polysporin because pimples are nothing more than an infection in your pores, honey really assists in clearing them up without drying your face up.Nutmeg is an anti-inflammatory. Taken internally, it calms various digestional problems. And externally, it helps to bring down any swelling, redness and irritation. Especially if you have cystic acne or pimples that are larger than large, nutmeg really improves the tone of your skin and the swelling/redness.
Cinnamon is a stimulant. Think of it kind of like an all natural exfoliant. Cinnamon helps stimulate your pores, which can help the other ingredients get in and fight the infection. And last but not least, lemon. Lemon is acidic, and never use it alone but mixed with other ingredients to balance out it's high acidity, it can work great because your zits do need zapping, lemon aids in this department. It is a natural bleach and can (in time) calm down skin darkness from picking at your acne. It will dry out your skin rather quickly, so use it in moderation.
Make sure you wash your face beforehand, with a gentle cleanser, especially to wash any makeup off. Then, using your fingers or a spoon, smooth the mask over your face. You can use it all over, even where you don't have acne, because it will still improve the clarity and tone of your complexion. You can use it around your lips (it even tastes good) because the honey will moisturize, therefore balancing off the lemon. Which means no chapped lips. Don't put this mixture under your eyes or on your eyelids. This is only because cinnamon and lemon are bound to irritate such sensitive areas...Smooth it on so it doesn't drip, but so that it's thick enough that the brown color is highly visible, sit around for at least half an hour. Then warm a washcloth in water, and gently wipe it off. The longer you keep this mask on, the better the results. You can even use this mask for spot treatments (a really bad patch of skin or a rather large pimple). You can also mix it in large quantities and keep it in the fridge (so the lemon doesn't go sour and contaminate it...) for later, but as treatment for a bad pimple overnight, you can always smooth some on and put a bandaid over it to keep it covered. You can use this mask as often as you like. The honey balances off the harshness of the other ingredients, so it's gentle but still really effective. If you make a cup of it in one sitting, the mixture can last you for a month of applications or more, depending on how liberal you are. This is cost effective and best of all, it works u for completely clear skin, you will have to continue to have good hygeine and diligence in taking care of your skin. As long as you wash your face every morning and every night, drink water and use this mask on a regular basis, you should not have any problems.
