There are quit a few ways to achieve the shiny and soft hair you desire. Here are some tips that may help you achieve the hair you desire. You may want to combine several of the tips for even softer and shinier hair.
Mix together two whole eggs and four tablespoons olive oil together and apply to dry hair. Apply a shower cap or wrap in plastic wrap and leave on for about 20 minutes. Proceed to wash your hair and towel dry or use a blow dryer at a low setting.

To get shiny hair on the spot, wash your hair with a hydrating or moisturizing shampoo. Use a deep conditioner and leave in for about 5-10 minutes. Rinse out with luke-warm water and towel dry. When towel-drying your hair, make sure you don’t rub it too hard or vigorously as it can pull the strands out.

Apply an anti-frizz or a shine serum to wet strands. Brush through with a wide tooth comb. Blow dry your hair using the lowest heat setting and make sure you don’t hold it too close to your hair.

Don't brush your hair when it's wet (unless it's extremely slick with conditioner or detangler). That can stretch it and break it.
Straightening and blow drying is fine with right protection products.
Look for shampoo and conditioner that does NOT contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
If your hair is prone to oiliness, try looking for shampoo & conditioner with mint & tea tree oils in them.
Use conditioner every day. Be careful to keep it away from your face though (especially if you have oily skin). Also, if you have oily hair, don't rub it into your scalp and be sure to rinse thoroughly. Work it in really well and let it sit for 2-3 minutes.
Mayonnaise (yes, the kind you eat) is terrific for dry hair. Smear it all over your hair (again, for the folks with oily scalp and skin, don't rub it into your scalp or too close to your hairline) and make sure to really work it into the ends.
