Ayurvedic physiology has four main aspects: The Doshas (body humours), the Dhatus (body tissues), the Malas (body wastes) and Manas (mind). Seven Dhatu are:
Rasa or lymh: It nourishes body and mind.
Rakta or red blood cell: invigorates body and mind.
Mansa or muscle: plasters, protects skeleton.
Meda or fat: lubricates body and voice. invokes feeling of love.
Asthi or bone and teeth: foundation and support of body.
Majja or marrow and nerve tissue: filling of bone and sclerotic fluid in nerve tissues, brain and spinal cord.
Shukra or reproductive fluids: protection and creativity.
