though i am not a medical expert, it is a stmptom of worms in your child's stomatch. De-worm the child. Educate him/her for cleanliness. He/she should always wash his/her hand before a meal. Go and consult a child physician.

How old is he?
He might be feeling some itching in his mouth. Is your wife still breast feeding? if yes then check with a doctor for some irregularity in the milk.

If he is at the age of breast feeding then he might be dreaming something and getting angry..

Make him sleep without his hands under his head or under the body. Hands should be free while sleeping, doesn't matter if folded.

The main cause for dreaming is that we keep our hand under our head and the blood flow affected so the brain gets all varied blood flow .. so we get dreams.

this is not so abnormal .do not worry as he is nice n healthy. get in touch with a child specialist and consult.
