Ma Kamakshya, or rightly pronounced as Maa Kamakhya Temple is located atop the Nilasal Hill. It is located in the Guwahati City of Kamrup District. The temple is of Goddess Kamakhya and every year Ambubashi Mela is celebrated in that temple. The temple is pride of Assam and it is related to Demon Narakasur, who wanted to marry Goddess Kamakhya. The site is a popular tourist cum religious spot and visited by a number of saints and tourists every year. It is within the city area and can be accessed easily with cabs, buses, autorikswas, cars, two wheelers, etc.
