What is difference between being Jealous and to Envy ?  

Generally jealousness is a negative feeling which arise in our mind against someone whom we may do harm if we get a chance. Jealousness is not desired in a person. Envy is a feeling with some positivities. If we have envy, we will compete with to get the thing of envy as our own. As a result, envy benefits us in developing ourselves. But most of the time we get confused as both the terms almost sounds similar meaning, a feeling of resentment.

envy-is wanting what another has, wishing you had it
jeealousy-is being upset because someone has something you want.
the slight difference is that you can have envy without malice or bad intent
while usually when a person is jealous that is a attached to a negative and anger emotion and is seen as more spiteful

One is good. That is jealousy. It gives inspiration to achieve more.
The other is bad. It makes you think on negative lines, that what other has should be destroyed and make him equal to you.!! It is envy and is one of the major causes of unhappiness.

To be jealous is a feeling of resentment against someone because of rivalry or his/her success which is no desired by the person who is jealous. Jealous may be due to suspicions or fears of unfaithfulness in love, e.g. jealous husband’s love to other woman.
To envy means a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions, etc
