I have seen in many cases, class rooms having more children than a teacher can manage.Due to that, the teacher-student personal contact is at its bottom, and the only few who come up in the top are taken care of. No teacher will agree with my view but it is the fact.
Same way I have also seen many parents adopt a " leave it to the teacher " attitude when it comes to day to day studies and school / home works. Many children simply aren't motivated to tackle difficult assignments or to complete tedious home work tasks. So,all of a sudden,at the end of the academic period, parents awakes and complain like what you have now complained.
Have you not noticed this problem earlier ?? What is the use of putting mannure on top of the plant after it finished an important stage of its growth ??
No child wanted to become a "budhoo".All children are not blessed with the same capacity to mug up or to by-heart. There must be frequent teacher-parent communication monitering in every stage of study.Normally there used to be three unit exams and two term exams before the final exam.It gives ample time for parents as well as teacher to help the child to learn better and to score better in exams.
Now,what ever time passed is gone for ever, you can not bring it back. What ever time is left now, please sit with him, give lot of encouragements, and slowly and steadly brush up the portions were ever he is weak. For GOD's sake do not discourage and depress him.For every point he is doing correctly,do not forget to encourage him.Where ever he shows weakness or failure, boost his moral, tell him he can do it.See that some how you save him for the time being for this year. But do not repeat this "failure " next year. Remember what ever I said earlier.
It you have not seen the Film " Tharem Zamin Par ",go and see and learn how to teach the children.
