The IQ is a score derived from a series of standardized tests attempting to measure intelligence. There are many such tests which get published in some of the newspapers and also you can obtain books from the book shops. You can take the tests yourself or appoint someone for the job and depending on the score your son secures, you can calculate it. The IQ of present generation is generally little higher than that of ours. As the IQ depends a lot on parental social status, morbidity and mortality,etc. Its genetical inheritance still debatable.

get him books on IQ plenty in the market and groom him and expose him in the right manner but do not prod him to be one.accept whatever is as it is

i think there comes a qeuestionnaire for every age group and you can test the i q of your child very well i think some psychologist might be the best person to contact in your area

The best way is to do with him at a psychologist cabinet.
They have testes for every age. For him it will be a pleasant experience, because at this age the testes are structurated like games.
By the other hand you can find on net some sites with testes for different ages, and you can search yourself.

Rajib, the best way to know your chid's IQ is to watch his activities and the way he reacts to a given situation, how much can he memorize and retain as well, a bright child is distinguished easily, he is still young let him grow up a little more his performance in class will be the result

hey friend......
Dont you think you will be putting too much pressure on your son at this age.....if you really want to test his IQ just see how he responds to small small things at home and how he takes over his studies......
Testing IQ somewhere i think at this point of time is of no use.....if you really want to do something from your side..then just give your suggestions to him how to tackle the basic things around him........give him that sense that makes him differentiate between good and bad ........and just by anaylsing how he reacts to these things and what he learns from them and how fast....will help you to judge his IQ to certain extent......
Friend for fulfilling our own wishes one should not push our children to extreme limits......its always better to just provide the best environment to our children and what they will learn themselves from their surroundings is the best they will keep with them till their lifetime....
but if you really want to go for it then you are always free to exercise your opinions....

At this tender age of 5-9, i m in not favour of testing or pressurising young brains.In plain way one can know the IQ of their kids and Parents r the most reliable ones to c his/her IQ level.If a kid is taught to name or write-say 10 various name of fruits or say flowers and if he /she can do it at one go or two ,u know he/she is really talented,IQ level is very high.or check how fast he/she can tell or write counting numbers/riddles/jumping/puzzle games. The parent specially Dad should spend some quality time in playing games -that way KID can develop his/her IQ faster.U cannt guide kids with rough words.They r more demanding than u and they behave smarter also in little later stage-say at 10plus which is a good sign.

Hi Rajib, You prepare one list of question about topics like current affairs, maths,science,history, etc, then you tell him that you and your son will play a game in this way you create interest. In this way you can check the IQ of your son. One more way is buy game which is related to IQ and ask your son to play on PC. Buy books related to IQ and ask him answer and you promise him that you will gift if he answer all the questions. Shahrukh Khan quiz game 'Kya ape Paanchavi pass' is also good and show him this program in friendly manner.
